What next! I hope everyone has been keeping track of the news, because they had a saminila outbreak in burgers, and a huge factory in the Northeast that had been around for about 75 years was shut down because of it's "less than satisfactory" grade of meat. Everyone please keep your eyes and ears open, and next time you want to grill out burgers, make sure that they are fresh and saminila-free!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8541508033852996390-7729266015683078210?l=btscienceinquiry.blogspot.com'/></div>bestpalsrockforeverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06125321082840192521noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8541508033852996390.post-88315194533371360082007-10-05T13:38:00.003-07:002007-10-05T13:38:56.150-07:00ContestSo, since this was a blog made for competition, I am taking a poll to destroy it or not. I have to say that I agree with this side, so I might be a little biased, but I am trying to cover the basics for both sides. This side says that grown-adult testing is wrong, unless the adult consents to it, and that embryonic testing is wrong altogether. They say this because most of them believe that a person is a person, no matter how small, from the moment of conception, until they die. This is what this side believes.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8541508033852996390-1135593649845357162?l=btscienceinquiry.blogspot.com'/></div>bestpalsrockforeverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06125321082840192521noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8541508033852996390.post-27393491073735871892007-09-19T06:27:00.000-07:002007-09-19T06:41:00.387-07:00It's O.K. as long as no one gets hurt...Now I will talk about the side that says it is O.K. as long as humans don't get hurt. Let's discuss this. There are two different successful ways of genetic testing/engineering. The first is grown-human testing, and the other is embryonic testing. Grown-human testing is when a grown, mature human can donate cells to be used for genetic testing. Embryonic testing is when they take the cells from a conceived baby, and put them into a petri dish to experiment with. Those people who say it's O.K., usually support conception testing, because they believe that the embryo isn't a human yet, so no one gets hurt.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8541508033852996390-2739349107373587189?l=btscienceinquiry.blogspot.com'/></div>bestpalsrockforeverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06125321082840192521noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8541508033852996390.post-61895602269161646082007-09-19T06:24:00.000-07:002007-09-19T06:27:43.286-07:00Now that I have you scared...Now that I got you all scared about food, lets talk genetic testing. Hopefully, if you are paying the least bit of attention to the news, you still know about the genetic testing going on around the world. It is a huge deal because it has two different views. The first view says that genetic testing is alright, as long as nobody gets hurt. The second view says that NO ONE should be playing with genetics because it affects all of us and that people are getting hurt. Look for a new post about each view in depth...<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8541508033852996390-6189560226916164608?l=btscienceinquiry.blogspot.com'/></div>bestpalsrockforeverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06125321082840192521noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8541508033852996390.post-16165133303770189892007-09-19T06:21:00.000-07:002007-09-19T06:24:40.676-07:00Taco Bell lettuceDid you guys here about the Taco Bell lettuce incident? It happened a little bit after the E. Coli incident, so everyone was still pretty scared of spinach, and now they had to be worried about their fast-food choices as well! Unfortunately for all of those lettuce-lovers, the lettuce at Taco Bell was causing sickness, so they couldn't serve lettuce on their tacos for a while. Luckily, they got the problem cleared up ASAP, so don't worry about eating the lettuce at Taco bell now.<br />Yo quiero Taco Bell!!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8541508033852996390-1616513330377018989?l=btscienceinquiry.blogspot.com'/></div>bestpalsrockforeverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06125321082840192521noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8541508033852996390.post-22235454386458188492007-09-18T14:48:00.000-07:002007-09-18T14:53:50.759-07:00Dog FoodWhile I am on the topic, let's talk about the dog food incident. I have two dogs, so this directly affected our household. I mean, how many Americans have dogs? A lot, right? So, when there is something like this that happens, all the dog owners freak and convert to different dog foods, blah blah blah. So the canned dog food was causing a problem, surprise, surprise. What do you expect with a canning factory? I mean, they're going to have a problem at one time or another. So the dog food starts to make dogs sick and die. Well, we were feeding one of our dogs this dog food, but pulled him off of it a few weeks before this started. Lucky us, right? So, just ot let all of you dog-lovers out there know, DON'T FEED YOUR DOG CANNED DOG FOOD! It could make them sick. Luckily this issue got cleared up pretty soon... I'll write again soon!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8541508033852996390-2223545438645818849?l=btscienceinquiry.blogspot.com'/></div>bestpalsrockforeverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06125321082840192521noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8541508033852996390.post-34920551515715506562007-09-18T14:32:00.000-07:002007-09-18T14:37:38.625-07:00The E. Coli BreakoutThe E. Coli breakout happened a few year ago, but is still fresh in my mind fo a few reasons. Do you remember it? The news was all over it(they usually are), but te countryas a whole was worried as well. People were dying, and justbecause of some disease people couldn't pronounce that was on the spinach. The problem was, no knew had expected this to happen, soeveryone freaked out when it did. Also, you couldn't see the E. Coli, which was more frightening to the very visual American public. This is probably why it scared many people, but the reasn it scares me is because IT STILL HAPENS TODAY, and nobody really cares, unless they are directly effctd by it.Please, let us pray for the people ou there who don't know any better,or wo don't care, so that they may care one day, not because it effects them personally, but because it effects the country as whole.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8541508033852996390-3492055151571550656?l=btscienceinquiry.blogspot.com'/></div>bestpalsrockforeverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06125321082840192521noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8541508033852996390.post-45101290905940109202007-09-17T13:05:00.000-07:002007-09-17T13:07:50.034-07:00Aloha!I thought that the blogging world of BT really needed a blog focused on the scientific advances(and set-backs) of the modern world. So here it is! I will be posting stories about various science topics, but the titles ill be the key If you are looking for a certain articl, just look at the title, or if you can't find it, just drop me a comment and I will try to add it ASAP. Until the next post!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8541508033852996390-4510129090594010920?l=btscienceinquiry.blogspot.com'/></div>bestpalsrockforeverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06125321082840192521noreply@blogger.com0
